There is officially undeniable fuel for the Bigfoot fire. In the past, all proof of its existence hinged on the validity of grainy footage and public sightings. In fact, it has become somewhat of a joke in the Bigfoot denial community. How, in 2023, could we not capture a high-resolution image of this massively elusive ape-like creature? It’s similar to the UFO denial community’s criticism of videos claiming to be UFOs that resemble something I would create in PowerPoint.
However, Thursday morning, my conspiracy theory buffer has weakened a bit. I mean, that’s Bigfoot, right?
At least, it looks like Bigfoot. The person responsible for the video was on a train in southwest Colorado, and from the looks of the landscape, there seems to be no civilized life anywhere in sight. What that tells me is that if this is an elaborate stunt pulled off by someone who just wants to watch the internet burn down, I have to tip my cap. Well done.
After gauging the initial temperature of the Sasquatch community, I reached out to a renowned Bigfoot believer for comment. He echoed the possibility of the video being staged. Wanting to remain anonymous, he simply said:
The nomadic nature of Bigfoot makes it especially intriguing as far as mythical creatures are concerned. People are still searching for the Loch Ness Monster, and that’s just in one body of water. You can’t miss something the size of a small submarine in what can only be classified as a slightly larger than an average lake. Not real! But Bigfoot? They can walk. They can roam. Sure, their territory consists mainly of the northwestern United States, but given the rise in temperature, anything is possible.
I have emphatically denied the existence of Bigfoot for a majority of my life. Given this new sighting, I have to reassess my mythical creature belief capabilities.
